Schenley Park sits between Oakland's universities and Squirrel Hill, with stone bridges, Panther Hollow and views of the Cathedral of Learning. The Park Mile route is the perimeter loop on the Steve Faloon Memorial Trail and the Bridge Trail.
The route
- Distance: about 3.2 miles for the perimeter loop.
- Terrain: mixed paved path and dirt trail with some hills.
- Extend it: drop into Panther Hollow or add the Schenley Oval track.
Tips
- Pittsburgh is hilly — pace yourself on the climbs.
- The Oval track is great for strides after the loop.
- Trails can be muddy after rain.
