Portland's classic city loop: along Tom McCall Waterfront Park, across the river, back on the Eastbank Esplanade and over another bridge — about 3.1 miles, with Mount Hood on clear days.
The route
- Distance: about 3.1 miles using the Hawthorne and Steel bridges.
- Terrain: flat paths and bridge crossings.
- Extend it: use farther bridges for 4.6 or 7.7 miles.

- The floating section of the Esplanade is a highlight.
