Piedmont Park is Atlanta's front yard and the most popular place to run in the city. The Park Mile route is a 4.0-mile loop around the park's paved paths, taking you past Lake Clara Meer, the Active Oval and the wide-open lawns with the Midtown skyline in view.
The route
- Distance: 4.0 miles, mostly paved and gently rolling.
- Good for: easy runs, long-run warmups and first-timers.
- Extend it: the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail runs along the park's eastern edge if you want more miles.
Tips
- Go early on weekends — the paths get busy with walkers, bikes and events by mid-morning.
- There are water fountains and restrooms inside the park, but carry water on hot summer days.
- Parking nearby fills up fast; many runners arrive by MARTA or on foot from Midtown.
How to unlock the Piedmont Park medal
- Run the route above — any pace counts, walk breaks included.
- Copy your Strava activity link (or a link to a screenshot of your watch or phone).
- Submit it on the Park Mile Passport page. Once approved, the Piedmont Park medal unlocks in your passport. It's free.
