The Paseo del Morro is one of the most beautiful runs in the Caribbean: a seaside promenade built in 1853 along the old city walls, past the Raíces Fountain and the garitas, out to the San Felipe del Morro fortress. About 2.2 miles out and back.
The route
- Distance: about 2.2 miles out and back.
- Terrain: flat stone promenade by the sea.
- Extend it: climb into Old San Juan and run to the lawn of El Morro.
Tips
- Go at sunrise or sunset — the midday sun is strong.
- Bring water.
- Stop for a photo by a garita — the symbol of Puerto Rico.
