Green Lake is Seattle's running hub: a 2.8-mile paved loop around the lake, with rowers on the water and, on clear days, Mount Rainier in the distance.
The route
- Distance: 2.8 miles for the inner loop; 3.1 miles for the outer loop.
- Terrain: flat paved path.
- Make it a 5K: use the outer loop.
Tips
- The inner loop is busy — the outer loop is quieter.
- Run counter-clockwise with the flow.
- Rain or shine, you will have company.
How to unlock the Green Lake medal
- Run the route above — any pace counts, walk breaks included.
- Copy your Strava activity link (or a link to a screenshot of your watch or phone).
- Submit it on the Park Mile Passport page. Once approved, the Green Lake medal unlocks in your passport. It's free.
