Grant Park is one of Atlanta's oldest parks and home to Zoo Atlanta. The Park Mile route follows a 2.2-mile loop around the park's perimeter, under big shade trees and past the historic Victorian homes of the neighborhood.
The route
- Distance: 2.2 miles around the park.
- Terrain: sidewalks and park paths with real hills — this loop rewards strong legs.
- Double it: two laps make a solid 4+ mile hill workout.
Tips
- Plenty of shade makes this a good summer option.
- Zoo days bring extra traffic and cars around the park — go early.
- Watch your footing on older sidewalks lifted by tree roots.
How to unlock the Grant Park medal
- Run the route above — any pace counts, walk breaks included.
- Copy your Strava activity link (or a link to a screenshot of your watch or phone).
- Submit it on the Park Mile Passport page. Once approved, the Grant Park medal unlocks in your passport. It's free.
