Craighead Forest Park is Jonesboro's big outdoor playground: 692 acres of forest on Crowley's Ridge with a lake, trails and picnic areas. The Park Mile route is the paved loop that circles the park — about 3.1 miles, a true 5K with rolling hills through the trees.
The route
- Distance: about 3.1 miles around the park.
- Terrain: paved park road with gentle hills — Crowley's Ridge is the high ground of the area.
- Go further: the park has more than 13 miles of wooded trails for trail running.
Tips
- The loop is shared with cars and cyclists — run facing traffic and stay visible.
- Arkansas summers are humid; go early and bring water.
- Add the lake trail for a longer run.
