Run it, connect Strava or upload your run — your medal unlocks automatically. Free.

Chautauqua Park sits right below the Flatirons, Boulder's iconic rock slabs. The Park Mile route is the 3.1-mile loop up to the First and Second Flatirons — short, steep and spectacular.

The route

  • Distance: about 3.1 miles for the loop.
  • Terrain: rocky mountain trail with a big climb.
  • Views: the whole city and the plains below.

Tips

  • Hiking the steep parts is totally fine.
  • Start early — parking fills fast and afternoons bring storms.
  • Bring water; the altitude adds up.

How to unlock the Chautauqua Park medal

  1. Run the route above — any pace counts, walk breaks included.
  2. Copy your Strava activity link (or a link to a screenshot of your watch or phone).
  3. Submit it on the Park Mile Passport page. Once approved, the Chautauqua Park medal unlocks in your passport. It's free.
