Brooklyn Bridge Park runs along the East River, from the Brooklyn Bridge to Atlantic Avenue, with the best views of Lower Manhattan anywhere. The Park Mile route is the 1.3-mile waterfront path.

The route

  • Distance: about 1.3 miles along the waterfront (one way).
  • Terrain: flat paved path past the piers.
  • Extend it: run it back for 2.6 miles, or add a crossing of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Tips

  • Go early — by midday the path fills up with visitors.
  • Perfect first medal for new runners.
  • Stop at the end for the classic skyline photo.
