The Boulder Creek Path is Boulder's running spine: about 8 paved miles along the creek, from the eastern grasslands through the university and downtown into Boulder Canyon.

The route

  • Distance: about 8.0 miles end to end (one way).
  • Terrain: paved; flat in the east, climbing into the canyon at the west end.
  • Shorter option: any section and back.

Tips

  • You are at 5,400 feet — take it easy the first time.
  • Shared with lots of cyclists; keep right.
  • Cool off in the creek in summer.
